1. Players to be at diamonds at posted start time for first game.
2. 7 innings max per game or 70 minute game time.
3. Mercy rule in effect. 20 runs after 4 innings, 12 runs after 5 innings, 10 runs after 6
innings.
4. No new inning will start after 60 minutes has been played.
5. 4 Game guarantee.
6. Higher seed automatically gets the choice of home or away.
7. Five man permitted for all divisions, Men’s, Women’s and Co-ed.
8. Runners cannot run until the ball is hit.
9. Pitcher masks are mandatory.
10. Interference will be an automatic out.
11. In-field fly in effect.
12. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, the last player out of the previous inning goes to 3rd base with 2 outs, and extra innings begin.
13. 5 Runs max per inning, except the last inning which will be open.
14. 1-1 count to start every game.
15. If a male walks and a female follows, the male automatically goes to second base, and the woman gets the choice of first base or to hit.
16. Co-Ed women, bunting allowed.
17. Women’s division bunting allowed with 2 outs.
18. If the defender touches the orange bag, the runner will automatically be granted 2nd
base.
19. Bat-testing will start in the 2027 season.
20. Leading off a bag before the ball is hit is an automatic out. No anticipation.
21. Any physical fighting with Umpires/Coaches will result in a lifetime ban.
22. No smoking or consuming alcohol on the bench/diamonds. Designated areas are
available.
23. Home Run rule: REC – 3 home runs max per game, D & C – 5 home runs max per game.
Every home run after will be an automatic out.
24. Sliding into every base is permitted except for home.
25. Commitment line in effect. If you pass the commitment line you cannot go back to 3rd
base.
26. All pitches must be 6-10ft, umpires will call this consistently.
27. Illegal pitch will be called by umpires while pitch is being thrown not when crossing plate.
If the umpire calls as you swing you can challenge the call.
28. 3 mound visits max per game are permitted.
29. Throwing to 1st base is permitted in the men’s and women’s divisions from the outfield.
Except in the coed division, 2nd base will be granted.
30. Finals will have 2 umpires at all times.
31. If you have an illegal roster your team will forfeit the game.
32. Fighting is automatic team Ejection and potential ban from the league.
33. No abuse to umpires or league officials will be tolerated. Foul language towards
Umpires/Officials can lead to ejection of the tournament.
34. Players from outside of Canada are not permitted to play in the Diamond Cup Point
Series.
35. If a team cannot field 10 players, you are permitted to still play with 9, with an out coming in your 3-hole batting order.
36. All players must be registered with the Diamond Cup point series and signed waiver
before participating in any Diamond Cup Point Series events.
37. Players must collect their own foul/homerun balls, failure to do so will result in an
automatic out.
38. Only coaches may approach the umpire to challenge a call.
39. 4 base error in effect at all times.
40. No pump-fake pitching allowed. Pitch must be one motion.
41. One foot must be on the rubber when the pitcher is pitching the ball.
42. If caught with an illegal roster, the players in question will be banned from the Diamond
Cup Point Series. Coaches will receive a warning.
